What transpires in this scene is the immortality of Miss Jane Austen. As promised, all the author's heroes/heroines will have their happy ending. .

Eager hearts for romantic whirlwind will feel thousands of liberations as the dawn breaks and Lizzy kisses Mr. Darcy’s hand by the near end of this film. Delightfully resembling its paperback counterpart, Joe Wright’s take on Pride and Prejudice is as enticing as the actors who filled the major parts. And this is the part where I shall now mention my dearest Mr. Darcy charmingly played by his Hotness, Matthew Macfadyen, and my personal favorite, the quick-witted and confident Elizabeth Bennet played by Keira Knightley.
One of the best pairing in film that I have seen so far, although Keira Knightley’s acting was far more praised by many; I beg to disagree with the middle- and highbrow critics claiming that Matthew Mcfadyen’s iciness had not given Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy the justice that he deserves in the cinematic domain.
It is safe to assume that there were a lot of “prejudices” on how Macfadyen’s performance weakly contrasted with that of Knightley’s. But I daresay this film is all about capturing the real essence of the character study, which it did, thank you very much. It is as expected that Macfadyen’s portrayal of Mr. Darcy will have the natural cold, snobbish and a little awkward demeanor which it essentially needs in order to give the rather interesting complexity in the story as it opposes the warmth, assertive intellect and liveliness of Knightley’s version of Lizzy.
The film successfully highlighted how the hero and heroine of the literature, from almost polar opposites, in rank and personalities alike, bested all the odds against their happy endings and realized their unconditional love for each other, minus each other’s pride and prejudice.

The icy stares of Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy. One that would definitely hook you from the start. Matthew Macfadyen is L.O.V.E!

SPOT ON. Kiera Knightley splendidly plays Elizabeth Bennett, (My favorite heroine of all time) :)
